Largest diesel engine consumes 6,000 litre fuel in 1 hour
The world’s largest diesel engine, the Wärtsilä-Sulzer RTA96-C, produces 108,920 hp of power and consumes over 6,200 litres of fuel per hour at its most efficient power setting. The 20 lakh-kg engine has been powering Emma Mærsk, one of the world's largest container ships, since 2011. With a height of 44 feet, it is taller than an average four-storey building.
