Lathi not a weapon of offence: HC on giving relief to 100-yr-old murder convict

While changing a 100-year-old man's murder conviction to culpable homicide in a 2004 murder case, Punjab & Haryana High Court said, "He was using a lathi to support himself." It said that lathi isn't a "weapon of offence as such". "It cannot be said that the accused had an intention to commit murder," said the HC.
