Law for meal break for loco pilots is not feasible: Railway Board

Railway Board on Monday said that bringing a legislation to give loco pilots breaks for meals or to use the bathroom is "operationally unfeasible". The decision was based on recommendations by a committee formed in July 2024 to address staff complaints. However, Board approved deploying Assistant Loco Pilots on trains running at speeds up to 130 kmph on regular basis.
