Law yet to recognise live-in as marriage: Kerala HC to live-in couple seeking divorce

A couple in a live-in relationship for 17 years moved Kerala High Court seeking divorce. However, the court dismissed their appeal. "Law is yet to recognise...live-in relationship as marriage," the court said. "If the parties decide to live together by virtue of...agreement, that by itself won't qualify them to claim it as a marriage and claim divorce thereon," it added.
