Lawmakers in US' S Carolina propose death penalty for abortions

Several Republican lawmakers in US' South Carolina have endorsed a bill proposing punishments that could range up to death penalty for women who undergo abortions. The proposed bill, however, makes an exception for women who undergo abortions due to the threat of "imminent death". Currently, South Carolina punishes abortion with a $1,000 fine and up to two years in prison.
