Lawyer quits legal career, earns ₹9 lakh/acre from dragon fruit

After practising law in Chandigarh for three years, Jaspreet Singh quit in 2020 to turn his passion for exotic fruits from a balcony garden into a 6.5-acre farm. He now grows avocados, blueberries, blackberries, dragon fruit, and other exotic fruits. His biggest income source is dragon fruit, bringing ₹9 lakh per acre. The off-season variety, Ecuadorian Palora, sells for ₹1200 per kilogram.
