Lawyers want vacations but judiciary blamed for case backlog: CJI

Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai on Wednesday said lawyers are "unwilling to work" during vacations, but the judiciary is blamed for the backlog of cases. His remarks came after a lawyer urged listing of a petition after the summer vacation. Recently, the apex court issued a notification on the benches that will function during the upcoming summer vacation.
