Lebanon's President names top ICJ judge Nawaf Salam PM

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Monday named Nawaf Salam, the President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at The Hague, as the country's new Prime Minister. A majority of Lebanese lawmakers endorsed the 71-year-old judge after two years of a caretaker government. Notably, Hezbollah had sought to reappoint caretaker PM Najib Mikati but ended up nominating no candidate.
