J&K's Leh and Kargil towns recorded the season's coldest nights on Thursday. While Leh recorded a minimum temperature of minus 17.1 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature in Kargil was recorded at minus 16.1 degrees Celsius. J&K's summer capital Srinagar had a temperature of minus 5.4 degrees Celsius. Parts of many water bodies, including the famous Dal Lake, were frozen.
