Lenders counter Mallya's 'recovering more than dues' claim, say he owes ₹8,752 cr

An SBI-led consortium of lenders told Bombay High Court that nearly ₹8,752 crore remained outstanding and recoverable from fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya, ET reported. The lenders' statement contradicts Mallya's claim that banks had already recovered more than the amount owed to them. The debt recovery officer had "temporarily recovered" ₹10,270 crore under a bond undertaking, the banks said.
