Life insurance policies to offer higher payout on early exit

Policyholders exiting life insurance policies during the initial years will now get a higher refund from the insurance company. The IRDAI has ordered a higher special surrender value (SSV) for traditional endowment policies. The special surrender value, however, will be based on several factors including the policy's term, premium paid, and the duration for which the policy has been active.
