Lifting weights for 90 to 120 minutes a week may help people live longer, a study of nearly 1.5 lakh US health professionals found. Researchers said strength training was linked to 13% lower death risk, including 19% lower cardiovascular death risk. Combining it with 150 minutes of weekly aerobic exercise reduced death risk by around 45%, the study further said.
