Lightning on Jupiter may be 100 times stronger than that on Earth: Study

Researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that some lightning flashes on Jupiter may be 100 times stronger than lightning on Earth. The findings came from data collected by NASA’s Juno spacecraft, which has been orbiting Jupiter since 2016. Researchers said Jupiter’s heavier moist air requires far more energy for storms to rise, causing them to unleash much greater energy.
