Lillee took ODI cricket's 1st 5-for on this day

Australia's Dennis Lillee registered One Day International cricket's first ever five-wicket haul while playing against Pakistan in the inaugural ODI World Cup on June 7, 1975. After having set a target of 278, Lillee's figures of 5/34 helped Australia register a 73-run victory over Pakistan. The performance earned Lillee the Man of the Match award.
