Lionel Messi's father Jorge worked at a steel plant before becoming his agent

Before becoming his son Lionel Messi's agent, Jorge Messi worked at steelmaker Acindar's Villa Constitución plant in Santa Fe. A chemical technician, he worked in quality control on 12-hour rotating shifts. When 13-year-old Lionel received opportunity at Barcelona, Jorge left his job, moved to Spain and began managing his son's career full-time. Jorge passed away aged 68 on Friday night.
