Locals alerted police after seeing smoke in U'Khand chopper crash

Local villagers collecting fodder noticed smoke and alerted authorities to the Uttarakhand chopper crash. NDRF and SDRF teams reached Gaurikund by 7 am and trekked to the crash site with rescue operations beginning at 8:55 am. Due to severe burns, DNA tests will be conducted to identify the victims before handing over bodies to families.
