Locust swarms pose threat to plane during landing & takeoff, can hit sensors: DGCA
Locust swarms pose a threat to aircraft in the critical landing and take off phase of the flight, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said while issuing guidelines for pilots and engineers. DGCA warned that flying through swarms can hit sensors and instruments, leading to incorrect readings, adding that the aircraft's air intake ports will also be prone to ingestion.
