Long working hours, job stress cause 8.4 lakh deaths/year: Report
Over 8,40,000 people die each year from health conditions linked to psychosocial risks, such as long working hours, job insecurity and workplace harassment, as per International Labour Organization. These work-related psychosocial risks are mainly associated with cardiovascular diseases and mental disorders. These risks may result in economic losses equivalent to 1.37% of global GDP each year.
