Lovely Professional University (LPU) refuted rumours of rape amid students' protests and vandalism at campus. It called rumours of the sexual assault of a female student "baseless". LPU Registrar Monica Gulati said certain "anti-social elements" were spreading false information that was creating confusion among students. The students set parts of a building on fire over the unverified claims.
