The CPI(M) on Sunday announced that senior Kerala leader MA Baby has been elected as the party's General Secretary. He succeeded Sitaram Yechury who passed away due to ill health in September last year. The 71-year-old is reportedly the second leader from Kerala to become the head of the CPI(M) after veteran leader EMS Namboodiripad.
