Macron announces minute of silence for Nice attack victims before France-Spain semi-final

French President Emmanuel Macron said a minute of silence will be observed before France-Spain FIFA World Cup 2026 semi-final match to honour victims of 2016 Nice terror attack on its tenth anniversary. Thanking FIFA for approving the request, he added, "We will never forget." On 14 July 2016, a cargo truck rammed into crowds celebrating Bastille Day, killing 86 people.
