Made symbol for system that shook country: DD logo designer

The Doordarshan logo was designed by Devashis Bhattacharyya while a student at National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad, in the 1970s. His design was selected by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi out of 14 designs by eight students and six faculty members. Bhattacharyya said that he is happy to have designed the logo for a system that "shook the country".
