Madhya Pradesh Assembly passed a government resolution to grant 33% reservation to women in legislative bodies after completing delimitation exercise, in the absence of MLAs of the opposition party Congress who staged a walkout. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav accused Congress of adopting a chronic negative attitude towards women's empowerment. Women quota bill was defeated in Lok Sabha recently.
