Madhya Pradesh cabinet approves Uniform Civil Code draft bill

The Madhya Pradesh cabinet on Sunday approved the draft Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill, which will be introduced during the state assembly's monsoon session beginning July 20, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said. The proposed law covers marriage, live-in relationships, adoption and inheritance. Yadav said around 80% of Muslim women and 40% of Muslim men supported the draft before the committee.
