Madras HC declines stay on TN bypolls set for Oct 6

Madras High Court refused to stay bypolls in Tamil Nadu's Maduranthakam and Dharapuram constituencies scheduled for October 6. The bench orally noted the situation should not become a "mockery of democracy," questioning if MLAs who resign after election can contest again. The bypolls follow AIADMK MLAs joining CM Vijay's TVK party.
