Madras HC halts EC from notifying bypoll for 5 TN Assembly seats

Madras High Court (HC) restrained Election Commission from issuing any notification for bypolls to five Tamil Nadu Assembly constituencies as election of the candidates who resigned from the constituencies has been challenged. The High Court added that if bypolls are conducted while election petitions are pending, "there will be 2 candidates representing same constituency at the same time".
