Magazine editor fired over AI-created Schumacher 'interview'

The editor-in-chief of German magazine Die Aktuelle, Anne Hoffmann, has been fired for publishing an AI-generated "interview" with Formula One legend Michael Schumacher. The Funke media group, which publishes the magazine, apologised to Schumacher's family for the "tasteless" article. Schumacher has not been seen in public since he suffered a serious brain injury in a skiing accident in 2013.
