Magnificent desolation: 2nd man to step on Moon recalls experience

The second man to walk on the Moon, Buzz Aldrin, talking about his experience on the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 Moon mission's rocket launch, recalled his description of the lunar surface as "magnificent desolation". The now 89-year-old astronaut said it was his "greatest good fortune" to have joined Neil Armstrong and pilot Michael Collins on the Saturn V rocket.
