Magnitude 6 earthquake hits Japan on New Year's Eve
An earthquake which had a magnitude of 6 hit Japan's eastern Noda region on New Year's Eve, the United States Geological Survey said. The agency added that the quake had a depth of 19.3 km (11.99 miles). The exact coordinates of the epicentre of the quake are 40.112°N, 142.889°E. No casualties or injuries were reported immediately.
