Magnitude 6.0 earthquake hits southern Philippines

A 6.0-magnitude earthquake jolted several provinces of the southern Philippines on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. The earthquake struck the province of Davao de Oro in Mindanao at a depth of 11 km, it added. There were no immediate reports of casualties. Photos and videos showing people evacuating shopping malls and a university surfaced online.
