Maha farmer sells kidney after ₹1 lakh loan rises to ₹74 lakh
A farmer from Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district has said he was forced to sell his kidney after an illegal moneylender turned a ₹1 lakh loan into an unpayable ₹74 lakh due to high and illegal interest charges. After farm losses and harassment, he travelled to Cambodia for the surgery. He is now seeking justice and a full investigation.
