Maha FDA suspends 4 senior officials over procedural lapses in raids; 21 face inquiry
Maharashtra FDA suspended four senior officials and initiated departmental inquiries against 21 others over alleged procedural lapses in raids on two tobacco-product manufacturers. After FSSAI clarified the products were not "food", the state had to withdraw its action, release the seized goods and tender an unconditional apology before Bombay High Court. The raids preceded Tukaram Mundhe's term.
