Maha orders statewide audit of church, missionary land after ₹300 cr fraud case

Maharashtra government has ordered a statewide audit of land owned by churches and Christian missionary organisations after an alleged ₹300 crore land fraud in Nashik. The audit will verify ownership records, land transfers, and possible illegal transactions. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said the exercise, covering land from British era onwards, will be completed within three months.
