Maha passes proposal to allow wine sale at supermarkets & walk-in stores

Maharashtra Cabinet passed a proposal to allow selling wine at supermarkets and walk-in stores. The stores' area should be over 1,000 square feet and should be registered under Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act. However, those near places of worship won't be allowed to sell wine. Condemning the move, former CM Devendra Fadnavis said, "We won't allow Maharashtra to become 'Madya'Rashtra."
