Maharaja Jagatjit Singh who turned Kapurthala into Punjab's Paris
Jagatjit Singh, the Maharaja of erstwhile princely state of Kapurthala, lived life king size. He had a vision to replicate Paris in India and was known for his Francophile passion. The Jagatjit Palace, was modelled after Château de Versailles. His Cartier jewels, including Turban Ornament adorned with a 117.40 carat emerald, was the most famous pieces created by the brand.
