Maharashtra bill proposes recovery of crypto assets in fraud cases

Maharashtra has introduced a bill to bring cryptocurrency-related frauds under the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (MPID) Act, IANS reported. The proposed amendment would classify virtual digital assets like cryptocurrencies as recoverable property, allowing authorities to attach and recover them. It aims to strengthen investor protection and tackle fraudulent deposit schemes.
