Maharashtra Cabinet approves veterinary van service for cows

Maharashtra Cabinet on Tuesday approved veterinary van services for cows injured in road accidents or in need of emergency medical care. The scheme will be implemented in phases, with 60 vans being operated initially. "The service is especially meant for farmers. To avail it, farmers have to drop a message to the department," state Animal Husbandry Minister Mahadev Jankar said.
