Maharashtra cuts Ladki Bahin scheme Budget by ₹10,000 crore

Maharashtra Deputy CM and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar allocated ₹36,000 crore for the flagship Ladki Bahin scheme in the state Budget, down from ₹46,000 crore in the previous year. The scheme currently provides ₹1,500 per month to eligible women in Maharashtra. The Mahayuti alliance had promised to hike the monthly stipend to ₹2,100 in its election manifesto.
