Maharashtra has declared 265 of 358 talukas drought-affected post-monsoon, with a 19% rainfall deficit from June–September. Marathwada and Vidarbha were worst hit. Reservoirs stand at 75% capacity, down from 88% last year. Authorities are arranging water tankers and assessing crop damage as farmers face fodder shortages and financial strain.
