Maharashtra farmer makes profit of ₹10 lakh per acre from avocado

In 2018, Parmeshwar Thorat planted 50 avocado saplings in Maharashtra's drought-prone Beed region which began fruiting in 2021. Thorat stated that in 2023, he harvested 1,000 kg of avocados and made a profit of ₹10 lakh from one acre. He added that he has started preparing grafted plants and sells each sapling for ₹300.
