Maharashtra FDA issues first-ever compliance order for blood centres

Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued its first-ever comprehensive order for blood banks in state to ensure the safety of patients and blood donors, FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe said. Under the order, blood banks must ensure availability of infrastructure such as counselling rooms and blood component processing facilities, along with qualified medical officers and technicians.
