Maharashtra makes 'Marathi' language mandatory in all govt offices

Maharashtra government on Monday announced that speaking Marathi will be mandatory in all government, semi-government and municipal corporation offices. According to the notification, government officials can use other languages only while interacting with visitors from out of India and other non-Marathi-speaking states. Strict action will be taken against violators, the state government said.
