Maharashtra makes Marathi compulsory for Classes 1 to 10 in schools

Maharashtra School Education Minister Dada Bhuse on Monday said that teaching Marathi and conducting examinations in the language are now mandatory for Classes 1 to 10 in schools. He stated that schools must also appoint qualified Marathi teachers. The schools that fail to comply with provisions could face financial penalties and, in cases of continued violations, cancellation of recognition.
