Maharashtra man sentenced to 7 years in jail for Taliban, TTP links

A special NIA court in Bengaluru sentenced Hamraz Worshid Shaikh, a Maharashtra resident, to seven years of rigorous imprisonment and fined him ₹63,000 in a terror radicalisation case linked to Taliban and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Hamraz, who pleaded guilty, had conspired with co-accused Mohammad Arif to recruit vulnerable youth, NIA said. The duo also formed a terrorist gang, it added.
