Maharashtra policeman dies after accidentally shooting self

A 30-year-old police constable died after accidentally pulling the trigger while cleaning his loaded service rifle in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district on Tuesday, officials said. The constable's family members rushed to the spot after hearing the gunshot and found him lying in a pool of blood. He was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival, officials added.
