Maharashtra sees 1,800 new COVID-19 cases, a rise of more than double in 1 day

Maharashtra reported 1,800 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, a huge jump from the 836 cases reported the previous day. Mumbai alone reported 975 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. Six more people, including two in Mumbai, succumbed to the infection in the state and the active cases stood at 11,370.
