Kanu Gandhi, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, passed away in Surat on Monday after a prolonged illness. The 87-year-old had suffered a cardiac arrest and a severe stroke last month and was on life-support systems. Kanu was famous for the iconic photograph in which he walked ahead of Mahatma Gandhi holding one end of his stick.
