Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to turn Mahim Fort into a tourist destination. On Monday, BMC demolished the last of the 267 slums encroaching upon the area near the fort and shifted around 3,000 residents to Malad and Kurla. BMC is likely to appoint architect Vikas Dilawari as a heritage consultant to restore the fort, BMC officials said.
