Mahrez retires from int'l football in live TV interview after Algeria's FIFA WC exit

Algeria forward Riyad Mahrez has announced his retirement from international football in a live TV interview after country's exit from the FIFA World Cup 2026. The 35-year-old, who currently plays for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli, ended his international career with 113 caps and 39 goals. Switzerland defeated Algeria 2-0 in the Round of 32 game in the World Cup.
