Major pipeline bursts in Mumbai, water supply to be affected

A major pipeline that carries water to Mumbai from Tansa Lake burst on Friday in the Aarey colony area around 12.45 pm, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said. Due to this, water supply is likely to be affected in some areas of central and western parts of the city, it added. The valves were closed to not waste water, an official said.
